What has been your favourite experience on Blue Peter and which is your favourite pet on Blue Peter?
I really enjoyed doing the rally car driving because it was quite reckless and scary too and when I went scuba diving, it was like going into another world where fish rule! As for the pets, they're all so different in their personality. I love George the tortoise and Meg and Mabel are my favourite dogs. Mabel is good natured, Meg can be a bit cheeky but she keeps you on your toes! I didn't have loads of pets when growing up, I had fish and that's about it!
If you had to pick one Blue Peter presenter from the past to join the team today who would it be and why?
Probably Simon Groome because I used to really like him when I was young. He's really funny and I enjoyed watching him. I met him recently and he's a really cool guy.
Have you ever been totally star struck meeting someone that you look up to?
I haven't yet been at a loss for words but we had James Cameron, the director of Titanic, in the studio a few weeks ago. Knowing on all the things he's worked on, it was quite cool. I'd love to act in a film and I'm into watching films and thinking about how well it's directed or written so I'd like to do that, but I don't think that'll happen.
Do you like doing all these special challenges that you have to do ?
Yes, it's always an adventure. I like the variety of all the things we do like driving a crane or deep sea diving, so I do enjoy it a lot.
Do you get nervous when you make the show?
Nowadays I don't usually get nervous, I've been doing it for nearly five and a half years so I've relaxed into it. There are times when I do get nervous though, like at the Jubilee event at Buckingham Palace . We hadn't had a chance to rehearse, I didn't have a monitor to see what else was going on and I felt really cut off, so I felt a bit nervous there.
Did you try and get a Blue Peter Badge when you where younger?
I actually got one. I was in a play with the National Youth Music Theatre when I was about fourteen - Jude Law was in that play too. I was on the Blue Peter programme with the cast and we all got badges.
What is your star sign and when is your birthday?
I'm Cancerian, the 17th July - a summer baby.
How did you feel when you got the job on Blue Peter?
I think I was in a state of shock. I went around in a daze telling everyone I was going to be on Blue Peter. After the initial screaming, it's just wierd because Blue Peter is an institution.
What do your family think of your achievements on Blue Peter?
My parents love it, they love it when they can tell people their daughter presents on Blue Peter and at first they used to watch every programme.
What would you being doing now if you weren't working for Blue Peter?
That's so tricky, I wanted to be everything in my time. I did Economics at University, but I can't see myself in a suit going into an office every day. I'd like to buy houses that are wrecks and do them up. I'm doing that at the moment, but I don't get any time to do it!
Do you ever get recognised and does it ever annoy you when people ask you for your autograph?
I do get recognised and it doesn't annoy me. The thing that annoys me is when people stare at you, as you don't know how to react. I'd prefer people to just come up and say hello, rather than stare or point - or just walk off if you're not interested!
What's it like in the studio?
It's really fun, I love being in the studio because it's such a surreal place. We'll have a brass band, Busted and I'll also be cooking something all at the same time - it's just very weird! I love being there and doing a live programme, I like the adrenalin rush of a live programme.
How many hours a week do you have to have rehearsals?
Every time we're in the studio, we rehearse in the morning so that everyone knows what they've got to do.
Have there been any funny incidents whilst rehearsing for Blue Peter?
Yes, there have been funny incidents on the show too. I was making something with S Club and it was quite chaotic. I didn't have any oven gloves, so I had this mixture but couldn't put it in the oven. I had everyone running around looking for the gloves...I've also done an interview with a bat and it climbed down my top - I just wanted to scream!
Things often can and do go wrong.
What has been your favourite country to visit?
That's such a tricky question, they're all so different, so it's really hard to compare them. I liked Vietnam and L.A. ...
Are you scared of any of the animals that have been on the show?
I did a programme where I got pecked by a swan and I got scared of swans a bit after that.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
The variety, the fact that you can do and see such different things and that you meet so many people.
If you took part in the chat with Konnie, we hope you enjoyed it!
How many years have you presented Blue Peter?
People with a very good memory might just remember when I joined Blue Peter. It was way back on 1st December 1997 but to me it still seems like yesterday! I really enjoy the job and have no plans to leave just yet hope that's the answer you wanted to hear!
If you went off the show, would you stay in contact with the other presenters?
A Definitely they're the best! We get on really, really well and whenever we're all together, there's a great atmosphere. I can't imagine us losing touch. It'll be like really good friends always are you may not see each other for ages but when you do, you pick up right where you left off.
Who has been your best guest on Blue Peter?
That's a tough one, we've had so many. I do remember the lady who had been on the Titanic, she was fascinating. Then I met the Hollywood director of the Titanic movie James Cameron so that was kind of a strange link. Meeting so many interesting people is one of the reasons I like the job so much.
Message from Konnie
I tried my hand at living off the land recently, but to be honest I would have been lost without the incredible knowledge of Ray Mears. I loved the fact that we could scrunch up leaves to make nature's soap to wash our hands - that was amazing!
