Zoe has recently become the 30th presenter of the BBCs Blue Peter Childrens Television. A Former Miss Northern Ireland Zoe was not sure what she was applying for when she answered an anonymous advert. But, after a series of interviews, she was among the final few hopefuls. Then, the 24-year-old was asked to record a video demonstrating her skills with remote-control cars, handling zoo animals and making Christmas cards. Only after her efforts impressed the panel was the ex-Miss Northern Ireland, from Bangor, told what the job was hers.
But it took a leap of faith for the London-based law graduate to clinch the part. For after applying to an anonymous advert in a local paper, 24-year- old Zoe was asked to perform a variety of tasks — including carrying out an interview on a trampoline. And even then she had to keep the news from her family and friends until her appointment was announced this week. She said: “It’s been the biggest secret I’ve ever had to keep and it will be a major relief to my friends and family. “I’m so excited and I’m really looking forward to all the mad stuff I know they throw at you on Blue Peter.”
Zoe who has a law degree from Queen’s University, Belfast, has had to put her plans for a career as a lawyer on hold to become the first new member of the Blue Peter team in four years.
